This is a mother of pearl and steel sewing set in a black morocco leather case. The box is of good quality and has a lovely shape and beautiful gold tooled sunburst design in an Art Deco style. I believe it dates to the 1920s. There is a small brass catch.
The interior also looks lovely with a silk and velvet, green lining, including little pale green silk covered decorative buttons. It is altogether a charming little set.
There are various mother of pearl handled tools, as seen, as well as some steel tools, including scissors, which are sharp and working well. Also, there is a brass thimble and some needles. There is a little tarnish on the steel parts of the tools.
The box measures 7.25 inches (18.5 cm) across.
