This unusual cased glass 7" tall vase was made in 1983 by highly regarded California based Lundberg Studios. The vase has a globular form with a short neck and flared rim. The exterior of the piece has a deep red color and bears a series of raised bumpy dots on the surface. The interior of the piece is finished in iridescent gold.

The vase is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. As a vintage piece, there are slight signs of age/use consisting of a few minor marks to the surface that are mentioned for accuracy. It should also be noted that there is a hard-to-see thread on the exterior related to production that runs beneath the rim and onto the neck. The vase stands 7" tall and is 6" at the widest point of the body. The mouth is 4.5" from one edge of the rim to the other. The foot is 3.5" from edge to edge and bears the hand etched words "Lundberg Studios" along with the date of production "1983" and item number "LS070 / 35". The piece weighs in at 1 lbs 9 oz.

This rare Lundberg vase displays beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to an existing assembly of Lundberg pieces or to a grouping of fine art glass by other makers. It also looks great showcased on its own. A highly collectible vintage find!

A note on the maker: Lundberg Studios of California was founded in 1973 by brothers Steven and James Lundberg. Considered innovative masters of art glass, the brothers created highly regarded pieces that are held in private collections as well as in major museums around the world. The company's hand crafted glass continues to be sought after today.
