Antique Mt Washington Glass Compote with Pairpoint Silver Cherub c.1910 (2.6lbs.) (W)9in. x (H)8in. A captivating Piece that's certain to garner attention, this lovely Compote is a product of Pairpoint Corporation of New Bedford, MA. In (1894), Pairpoint merged with Mt. Washington Glass. At this time the company shifted its focus from producing mainly Silverplate, to producing: ornate, decorative, Glass; with a particular emphasis on color. This Antique is evidence of said shift, exhibiting an iridescent, Green (Glass) Bowl. The Glass Bowl is affixed to the Silverplate Cherub. The Glass is textured and tailored to give a varying degree Green. The Cherub is a relatively dense Piece of Silverplate, lending to the 'angelic' weight of the Compote. The structural integrity of the Antique is without question, fore there are no significant fractures or cracks to the Glass; the Silverplate Cherub is in great condition too. The only true mark of age is a petite chip, where the Cherub is affixed to the Bowl. The size and location, camouflage it completely. The Antique Mt. Washington Glass Compote with Pairpoint Silver Cherub is stored in a: dry, secured, environment, and will be a highly coveted Antique for display.
