It's this GILBERT - THE CHOCOLATE OF CONNOISSEURS tin litho box from the Art Deco era. Yellow, red, black and gold are the colors.
The box once held Gilbert Chocolates, a Michigan company that started making sweets in 1893. Now, this box can hold your trinkets, jewels, keys, money, knick-knacks, doodads, and whatchamadoodles. It can also hold your stash of sweets.
The box measures 7 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches. It's 2 1/2 inches high. The lid is double thick and closes securely.
One side of the box that says CABALLERO shows slight wear. Overall, the box shows minimal wear...it's clean inside and out with no dings or dents. Circa 1940.
