c1920s Egyptian Revival, Art Deco Shawl or Tablecloth with Anubis, Pharaoh

A very unusual circa 1920-30s Egyptian Revival Tablecloth, Table Runner. The Tablecloth is made from a soft silk rayon or silk blend and is decorated with an Egyptian motif of Pharaohs and the Deity God, Anubis. A Pharaoh is a King and Anubis is the Egyptian God of mummification and the afterlife. The Egyptian Revival style became popular with the finding of King Tut's Tomb in 1922, it was a short lived style because of the Depression so items are hard to find. This unusual Tablecloth measures 30" wide x 68" long including the fringe. It is in good overall condition. The only thing to note is some unraveling and tangling of the silky fringe. The Shawl or Tablecloth would be perfect in an Egyptian or Ethnographic collection.
