Rare c1920s Art Deco Vitrolite Advertising Sign, Scientific Refrigeration

A Rare circa 1920-1930s, Art Deco Vitrolite cut glass Advertising Sign. Structural pigmented glass, known as Vitrolite and by other trade names, was used architecturally during 1920s and 1930s. Storefronts and home interiors were decorated with it for a streamlined look so popular in Art Deco and Art Moderne styles. This Advertising Sign is cut into the glass and is signed "Scientific Refrigeration", there is a word within the glass on the bottom that looks like "Amburge" or "Amdurge", the back has a textured striped pattern.

The Glass Tile Sign is large at 24" x 20 1/4" x approximately 3/8" thick and it weighs approximately 16 pounds. The Vitrolite Sign is in good overall condition. There are some chips to the edges the largest is a shallow chip on the lower left corner about 1", this would have been "framed" so to speak so it wouldn't show once it is was mounted. The Glass Sign is perfect for an Architectural, Advertising, or Science related collection.

This will be a heavy, oversized package. Any overcharge on shipping will be refunded less a small bit to cover packing materials. I might need extra time to wrap this and get it shipped.
