This beautiful sterling manicure set for the vanity is from the Art Deco era and is by LaPierre Manufacturing Company founded in New York in 1888; in 1895 it moved to Newark New Jersey and was incorporated there. The company was known for a variety of dresser wares such as this beautiful Art Deco era set. Each piece in the set is marked sterling and bears the LaPierre hallmark as well. It comes in its own blue leather case with a gold velvet bottom interior and cream colored moire silk top interior. There are no stains, tears nor odor; the set is just beautiful with no damage, just the way it came out of the estate here in Maine. The set includes a nail file, scissors, another nail implement, the handled nail buffer and a cream jar. It looks like the set has almost never been used. All of the pieces except the scissors have a three letter monogram on them which looks like EGT in that order. I didn't even notice the monograms until I started taking photos. I thought the design on the pieces were all part of the pattern. The set is so lovely in as mint as anything that age can be with absolutely no damage anywhere. The box itself is beautiful and opens and closes well. The box measures 5 3/4" by 3 7/8" and still retains its gold trim on the top. The file is 4 3/4" in length; the scissors 4" with sharp points and tight center hinge; the buffer is 4" by 1" at center; the other instrument is 3 3/4"; the cream jar is 1 1/8" in diameter. They are all sterling with impeccable design. What a stunning set for your vanity, totally complete, all original. If you are one who has her nails done professionally, I am sure your manicurist would certainly be in awe of this set!
