This pretty, nineteenth century, needle case tests as 800-900 silver . It bears a pair of hallmarks which I am unable to identify.
It measures 2 and 7/8” (7.2cms) long and 10mms across the widest part. It weighs 3 grams.
The design is lavish and intricate. There are delicate leaves and scrolls with an empty, small cartouche on each side. At the top and base there are what looks like acanthus leaves and these are continued on to the finials.
The case opens easily to reveal a plain top. On one side is the pair of hallmarks .
This exquisite needle case is in fine antique condition with a natural patina of age It will arrive in a gift box..
