This is an extremely rare and ornate antique Victorian wicker rocker that retains the original natural finish. This wonderful rocking chair has a lovely original honey colored finish.
This rocker was made by Heywood Brothers and Company during the 1880's.
The rocker has elaborate designs throughout including a fancy hand caned cameo back.
The back posts and front legs are adorned with intricate beadwork. The arms are formed with curlicues and turned wooden beads. It has a set in cane seat. The finials are done in a decorative cornrow design. The rocker is strong and sturdy. This museum quality piece is in excellent vintage condition. It is a great example of the fine quality craftsmanship of the Heywood Brothers and Company and it retains the original paper label. Circa 1880's.
