This outstanding Large Treasure Jest is called "Horn 'A Plenty", and is by master carver Peter Calvesbert. This single rhino box figurine is a very early carving and does not use Peter's signature mouse and there are no inner carvings or hallmarks. This is a rare and hard to find early version.

Before Harmony Kingdom became the business it is today, founder Martin Perry was making the netsuke-style boxes under the business name of Antiquark. In 1990, he had hired another company to finish and market the boxes. This company would mark "SAC" on the pieces to identify their company. Antiquark began to market and finish the boxes themselves during the early 1990s, and by 1995 the SAC company was no longer working with Mr. Perry. About that time Harmony Kingdom was started with Noel Wiggins and Lisa Yashon. Some boxes with the "SAC" engraving survived.

This early box figurine has the "SAC" engraved on the inside of the bottom piece and the top part. The mark is very light and difficult to photograph. This box has medium brown staining, and the snake on the side is stained very pale green. On later versions, the snake was painted a deeper shade of green.

This box was introduced in 1991 and retired in 1997; it was made in England. There is no Harmony Kingdom logo on the lid and no sticker on the bottom. This lack of marks means this particular figure was made in 1991, very close to the time of its carving.

Harmony Kingdom boxes are hand crafted, using marble resin, from original carvings. Then each is hand painted and tinted for a one-of-a-kind figurine. The boxes are hand painted by citizens of the rural English countryside of the South Cotswolds.  There are differences in colorations on each piece.

"Horn 'A Plenty" is referenced in "The Harmony Kingdom Reference Guide" by Leanna Barron (2002), page 85.

This box is in perfect condition, from the inventory of a closed store. It comes in the Harmony Kingdom green canister box, with certificate. The sculpture and detail on this box figurine are remarkable!
